It's finally spring! Ish.
Sure, now it's officially spring, but the sun still doesn't like to make an appearance in the afternoon hours and the warmest it's been all week in high 40s. And that's if we're lucky.
Some of you might live in Florida, and if that's the case, congratulations. You are now the envy of the country. Especially now that everyone who was on spring break in Florida has left, and wishes that they were still there.
So if you're freezing and wishing spring break wasn't over, why not make some bright spring notebooks to trick you into thinking it's going to be warmer that 40 degrees tomorrow.
I love decorating notebooks, so as I was seeing all the fanfare around it being the first official day of "spring," I decided to beautify a notebook using bright spring colors. So I'm sure all of you are able to figure out how to decorate notebooks on your own, so I'm just going to tell you a few tips to make the notebooks you decorate even better!
1. Save school notebooks! Old notebooks that weren't used by you or your younger siblings during the school year work great, so you don't have to buy new notebooks.
2. In order to cover the most space on the notebook cover, you need a few big pictures to go in the background (in my case the M and Ms and the cherry blossoms) and then a few smaller cutouts. You also want something to put in the center, maybe with a quote or something on it. (For me, it is the 'hello spring' circle)
3. Scrapbook paper! Scrapbook paper is so helpful so that you don't have to cover the entire cover with photos, you can just have the scrapbook paper as color in the background. (I used a green plaid-ish one for this cover because I thought it looked spring-like)
4. With all the glue on the notebook, it tends to make the cover curl. If this happens, it's perfectly fine, but to prevent it, stack a few heavy books on the notebook right after you glue everything down. (But you might get some glue on the books you use)
So anyway, those are my tips! Decorate your notebook however you like, and use it for whatever you want!
Until next time,
Alyce
